Liquid Inc. announced that it will start offering a new authenticity determination function to prevent applications with fraudulent identification documents for the “LIQUID eKYC” identity verification service.
The authenticity determination feature for identity documents is a function that evaluates the genuineness of the identity document based on images of its surface taken by end users. It determines whether an application has been made with fraudulent documents, such as those projected onto a display (Display Attack) or printed on paper (Photo Attack). It can handle all types of documents, such as driver’s licenses, National ID, and passports, and automatically determines authenticity using image processing technology. In addition to eliminating the need for visual verification, it also removes inconsistencies in judgment accuracy that occurs with visual verification. It enables efficiency improvement in screening operations and strengthens measures against fraudulent applications, such as those using someone else’s identity document images.
